Alameed University Commemorates the Martyrdom Anniversary of Lady Zainab Al-Kubra (Peace Be Upon Her)
The University Psychological Counseling Division organized, on Monday, January 5, 2026, a memorial ceremony for the martyrdom of Lady Zainab Al-Kubra (peace be upon her) at Imam Al-Mujtaba Hall (peace be upon him). The event was attended by University President Prof. Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jash’ami, Administrative and Legal Assistant Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Kareem Abdul Rahim, Acting Scientific Assistant Assist. Prof. Dr. Lamia Abdul Karim, deans of colleges, and a number of faculty members and staff, in solidarity with the household of infallibility and prophecy (peace be upon them) on this solemn occasion.
The ceremony began with the recitation of blessed verses from the Holy Quran by Ahmed Abdul Hussein, a medical student, followed by a lecture delivered by Sheikh Salah Al-Aboudi, who opened his speech with a moving eulogy, reflecting on the gravity of the tragedy and the esteemed position of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her) and her immortal mission.
During his lecture, Sheikh Al-Aboudi highlighted the life and legacy of Lady Zainab Al-Kubra (peace be upon her), emphasizing her heroic stance following the events of Karbala, her patience and steadfastness in facing injustice and tyranny, and her pivotal role in conveying the message of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). He also drew lessons and inspirations from her exemplary character in patience, courage, and upholding the truth.
This memorial ceremony is part of the awareness and religious activities that the University Psychological Counseling Division organizes, aiming to reinforce religious values and instill the culture of loyalty and emulation of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) within the university community.
